Say what you need to say

If you’re like many pet owners, you spend a decent amount of time imagining what your littlest friend is thinking, pondering, complaining, and enthusing about.  You may have invented a ‘voice’ for your furry companion, and you may even keep a running commentary either in your mind or – as is the case with my husband and I – out loud.

Dan and I have a special Hero ‘voice’, and we often talk for him when we feel relatively certain that we know – clued in by his facial expression or body language – exactly what he’s ‘saying’ to or, as is often the case, about us.

You may know pets that have Facebook or My Space pages.   But do you know Sockington, the Twittering cat?  Are you part of Socks Army of devoted followers?  Do you tune in to hear about Sockington’s cat naps, litterbox use, and daily impressions?  You may want to consider following Socks on Twitter.  He’s billed as a modern day Garfield – a running, real time comic strip.

Or you may want to consider opening a Twitter account for your own sweet baby boy or girl – whether cat, dog, gerbil, or goldfish I’d be willing to bet your pet has an interesting point of view to share with family and friends!

The one word of caution I’d have for you?  Pets see it all – so be prepared!  Your pet probably knows all your deepest darkest secrets, your silliest quirks, and the truth behind what you do when you think no one is watching!  Make sure you maintain editorial power!!!
